Welcome to the National Fire Line Officers Team (NLOT) webpage! Our Mission is to help our fellow Line Officers be successful in meeting Fire Management responsibilities and expectations. With your input, we serve as a conduit raising awareness to emerging issues and ensuring your perspectives are shared with National Fire Leadership. The main goals of NLOT are to: Testing
- Foster a culture of safety which reflects, promotes and maintains a safe work environment for employees;
- Provide and promote leadership on national policy, standards, and procedures related to Fire and Aviation Management (FAM);
- Communicate with and mentor Line Officers on issues related to FAM, including the integration of research and management; and
- Recognize significant achievement among our peers.
NLOT History
This Power Point is the history and highlights of the NLOT from August 1996 when Jack Ward Thomas charted the NLOT through 2010. Note: This posting does not reflect the history from 2010 through current day; however, the intent is to have this completed by May 2016.
NLOT Roster
This roster includes a complete list of current NLOT Representatives. The NLOT is comprised of approximately 25 members. It is chaired by a Deputy Regional Forester and includes two representatives from each Region.
NLOT Charter
This document highlights the roles, goals and governance of the National Fire Line Officer Team. The NLOT was originally charted by Jack Ward Thomas in August 1996.
Program of Work
